Samar – Forest Wallpaper – Neutral

Samar is a fine single-line engraving of leopards and monkeys set against the weathered stone ruins of an old civilisation, printed in a single flat ink colour.

The scene runs a leopard and cub resting on a rock beside a stream, half a dozen monkeys through the tree canopy and on the ground, a multi-arched stone bridge with a domed lookout anchoring the background, a smaller wooden footbridge, a bird in flight overhead and potted plants at the ruin's base — repeated continuously in the dense style of a classic toile.

On Neutral, the line is a plain brown ink against a neutral cream background — the most muted of the five Samar colourways, with the least contrast between line and background.

Samar is a non-woven, paste-the-wall wallpaper, and should be a straightforward hang for a confident DIYer, or a quick job for a decorator. The offset match shifts each drop up half a pattern repeat rather than lining up square, so allow a little extra paper for matching at doors, windows and corners. It's rated washable, so dirt and marks can be carefully cleaned off with a damp cloth, and it's designed to strip back off dry when it's time for a change.
